4 Things to do in Charlottesville in July

Looking for a way to spend your free time next month?  How about coming to Charlottesville and seeing what we have to offer here.

First up is the July 4th celebration at Monticello.  Every year the Independence Day Celebration and Naturalization Ceremony is held on the lawn.  This year more than 70 people will become US citizens during the ceremony.  Keynote speaker will be Gold Star parent Khizr Khan.  Be sure to visit the 1st floor of Monticello – all part of the celebration.

Then you might want to head over to James Monroe’s historic home – Highland – for an Independence Day Concert and Celebration.  There will be games and music throughout the day.

Coming mid-week?  That’s a very good idea if you can get away as the lines at the wineries and historic sites are not long.  And if you are here on Wednesday take a picnic lunch to King Family Vineyards for their Wine Wednesdays.  Food trucks will be there and so is great music!  If the weather is good all takes place outside on the patio.

Then take a Saturday afternoon to learn more about wine and vineyards at Grace Estates Vineyard with their Vineyard Walk.  This is a wonderful way to explore the vineyard and the estate – plus taste their wines.

Just a couple ideas to get you thinking about visiting Charlottesville.  Looking forward to seeing you in July!

Be sure to take advantage of our Summer promo.
