During the month of March here are a lot of events and things to do in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. It was hard to select just 5 things. Music, beverages and books are on my agenda for this month.
VibeFest2K19 Saturday March 2, 7:00pm at IX Art Park This festival occurs in the spring and in the summer. This is it’s second year in existence. The festival’s mission is to reach for unity in diversity. The music crosses cultures and musical genres and brings together artist of all ages and career stages.
Keel & Hill Friday March 8 6:00-8:00 at Starr Hill Brewery A great way to enjoy both brews and the sounds of folk & bluegrass. Bob Keel & Eldred Hill weave together a fun and organic sound that will reach inside and lift the soul. Try a flight of beers/ales while listening to tunes that are familiar or sound like they should be familiar.
Irish Music Ft. Sunday March 10, 2:30-5:00 at Albemarle Ciderworks Enjoy this energetic and eclectic Irish jam session as Patrick & Aaron Olwell and Friends play their fine renditions of traditional tunes. Cider and snacks available for purchase, or bring a picnic.
Virginia Festival of the Book Wednesday March 20 – Sunday March 25 I look forward to this event every year! The Virginia Festival of the Book brings together writers and readers to promote and celebrate books, reading, literacy, and literary culture over five days in Charlottesville and Albemarle County every March. The Festival offers about 250 programs, most of them free, and provides book discussions in every genre and for every level of reader. All programs are open to the public and, with the exception of a few ticketed events, the majority of Festival programs are free to attend.
Virginia Craft Spirits Roadshow Saturday March 30, 12:00-5:00 at IX Art Park If you love local spirits you need to visit the Virginia Craft Spirits Roadshow at IX Art Park. Tickets include all samples of artisan spirits as well as craft cocktails from numerous Virginia distilleries, as well as local brews! If you purchase any bottles to take home with you they will store them for you at their concierge station while you enjoy the event.
These are just 5 of the many events happening in March in the Charlottesville area. We hope you can get to at least one of them.
