It is the season of gift giving, and we all want to find the perfect gifts for the loved ones on our list. Sometimes it’s hard to find something unique that the receiver of your gift will love year after year. We’re lucky here in Charlottesville; small, locally owned shops line the downtown mall filled with beautiful gift options, and we don’t hurt for crafters and craft vendor fairs.

O’Suzannah – This shop on the Downtown Mall is set up beautifully. It could take us days to look through all of the unique gift options such as paper goods, adorable baby and kids gifts, lovely, handmade jewelry, home decor, and the list goes on. The variety here makes it the perfect place to find something special for someone you love, and it might even be hard to walk out without something for yourself.
Roxie Daisy- We have a hard time leaving this Downtown Mall store once we enter the doors! It is welcoming and full of lovely furnishings and decor for the home. Find high quality gifts for your friends and family to use to make their homes more beautiful, such as candles, wall decor, textiles, and other accessories for all different rooms!
The Happy Cook- As you can probably guess, this Barrack’s Road Plaza store is all about the kitchen. We’re sure you have someone on your list that loves to cook or just could use something new for their kitchen or table. There are specialty items here for that person on your list, and there are even some food items, too, like great coffee!
Shopping Events throughout the Month
12th Annual Holiday Craftacular Market– December 9th. This craft show is hosted by Craft C’Ville (formerly known as fleaVILLE). This year, it will be held at Carver Recreation Center in downtown Charlottesville. You’ll find a variety of handmade goods made by the talented crafters and makers local to the area, so you won’t want to miss this chance to look around and find something for several people on your list.
The Holiday Market– Every Saturday until December 23rd, find local handmade goods near the Downtown Mall at the location of the City Market. This weekly market brings talented artisans and crafters together to display their work. Each week you can shop through and find something for someone on your list that appreciates something unique and handmade. This is also just a fun place to browse around while you drink coffee and enjoy warm food from one of the food vendors.
