4 Fun Things to Do in October in Charlottesville

As the weather cools down and the leaves begin to turn beautiful colors, Charlottesville becomes one of the best places to be (not that it isn’t all year)! The beautiful views and vibrant community that comes out to enjoy the perfect fall weather are a perfect pair. There are plenty of events to enjoy this month, but we’ve picked these four as our favorites!

Crozet Fall Arts and Crafts Festival– October 7th & 8th. This semi-annual event is one of our favorites! Over 100 juried arts and crafts vendors will be in Crozet Park. Spend the day here for early holiday shopping and find unique, handmade gifts that your family and friends will love. Local food trucks and local wine and beer are also available to make this arts and crafts show even more fun than it already is! Saturday and Sunday

Top of the Hops Beerfest– October 14th. Head to the largest annual beer tasting event in Charlottesville. You’ll have the option of sampling over 150 craft beers, many of them being local. The fun continues with Brew University sessions where you can learn about brewing your own beer if you’d like. If you like to dance, you can step inside the silent disco, or just watch the entertainment of those that are dancing to music that only they can hear! VIP tickets will get you access to exclusive tastings and food. Saturday.

22nd Annual Monticello Apple Tasting at Tufton Farm– October 14th. Visit Jefferson’s Monticello for this annual event. This is one of the estate’s most popular event, and rightfully so, as you’ll get to taste delicious varieties of apples that you can’t find in a supermarket. You’ll even get to rate the apples that you taste during this event! Saturday.

Comedy at the WineryOctober 21st. This event at Prince Michel Vineyards benefits the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation of Montpelier. Enjoy a wine tasting, a full buffet style dinner and dessert, a silent auction, and an evening of comedy with an opening act followed by Bengt Washburn, a winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Award. If you love to laugh and drink wine, this event is perfect for you! Saturday.

Which event sounds most fun to you? We’d love to know!
