Things to Do in Charlottesville in June

It is heating up in Charlottesville and there is no doubt that summer is right around the corner! With highs in the 80’s and 90’s and a sunshine filled sky, there’s much to do outdoors in Charlottesville in June. Finding a shady hike or sitting on the patio of a beautiful winery are two things you can enjoy at any time, all summer in beautiful Charlottesville, but here are some more specific events that we think look exciting for the month!

  1. Loving Cup Vineyard 5th Annual Open House: June 10th. Spend the day at Loving Cup and enjoy a hayride around the vineyard or a wine cellar tour led by the winemaker. If that doesn’t sound like it’s for you, you can enjoy live music on the patio with delicious wine and food from the Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie food truck. Saturday
  2.  Brews with a View: June 15th. This is a monthly event that takes place through the summer. An admission fee of $20 covers a relaxing night on the rooftop of the Second Street Gallery. Live music by Adar and Erin &The Wildfire. Local craft cider from Bold Rock and beer from South Street Brewery will be available. The proceeds support C’Ville art exhibitions at the Second Street Gallery. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the arts and have an enjoyable night! Thursday
  3. Virginia Summer Solstice Wine Festival: June 24th. Come out to Lazy Days Winery in Amherst, VA to enjoy a day of wine tasting from local vineyards, food from local food trucks, and shopping with arts and crafts vendors. There will also be live music on two different stages. This festival sounds like a great time for all ages! Saturday
  4.  Tuesday Tunes at James Monroe’s Highland: June 27th. This is the June datewhite buildings, green grass of a summer concert series that takes place at James Monroe’s Highland. You’ll enjoy great music from Darrell Rose and Friends, and you can bring a picnic or enjoy food and alcohol from local vendors that will be available!  Enjoy a sunset at James Monroe’s lovely estate while you relax Proceeds benefit the educational programming at Highland along with the local roots music school at The Front Porch. Tuesday

We look forward to seeing you this month.
