OK, Pro Re Nata’s not really new but it is to us. It started last year but sometimes it takes us a while to break away from the inn and get to all the new places there are to enjoy in the Charlottesville area. We went there for the first time earlier this month and really enjoyed the outing. Their 1st Anniversary celebration will be October 1st – with a big party planned to celebrate the occasion.
They are located just outside Charlottesville in Crozet, near I-64. An easy drive to get there.
Pro Re Nata is Latin for “as needed”. As if anyone needed to be told to drink good hand crafted beer “as needed”. We had a flight of beers which were very good. Our favorites were Claudius Crozet Cream Ale, Doctor’s Orders Lager and Instant Dharma.
If you are hungry while there they have a food truck permanently on site – Over the Counter. You can pick up sandwiches or light snacks such as seasoned fries, homemade potato chips, or nachos.
Pro Re Nata also has lots of special events going on at the brewery. The night we were there it was Songwriter’s night. Four very talented local artists provided us with great music – thanks to Michael Coleman, Genna Matthew, Brady Scott & Brett Jones. Check out their Facebook page to see what events are happening.
When looking for some great beer to try – stop in and visit Pro Re Nata!
