Hard to believe that it is the middle of June already. Time to start thinking about where to visit and what to do in Charlottesville next month. Below are some of our favorite things.
- July 4th at Monticello. Attend the 54th Independence Day and Naturalization Ceremony and witness people from around the world become naturalized US citizens. This year’s speaker is Larry Sabato of UVA’s Center for Politics and a political expert for many television news programs. Tickets are required but the event is free of charge.
- Polo Matches every Sunday at King Family Vineyards. The matches start at 1:00 pm but you need to get there early to get a spot and set up for tailgating. Also, enjoy tasting some of their great wines.
- The Wintergreen Summer Music Festival. July 12th – August 7, times vary. Enjoy music, dance, theater and more. There are even cooking classes and wine tasting events. Only a short drive away and in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
- Peach Picking at Chiles Orchard. There is nothing better than a freshly picked peach or homemade peach ice cream. If you don’t want to pick them yourself they do have some already picked for you to purchase.
Enjoy your summer!
