Hard to believe that June is just a few weeks away. While thoughts of vacation and going to the beach may be on your mind – don’t forget about all the exciting things you can do in the Charlottesville area. We selected 3 things to do that we think you would enjoy.
- Overlook Beer and Cider Tour – every Sunday at 1:00pm. A local expert will take
you to the best breweries within the city of Charlottesville. Stops include Three Notch’d Brewery and South Street brewery (where you might want to grab a bite to eat). Then it’s off to Carter Mountain to enjoy the view and taste six ciders from Bold Rock Hard Cider. - LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph – June 13-19. This annual event is worth the trip to Charlottesville just to see gorgeous photos hung among the trees on the downtown pedestrian mall or inside in galleries and stores. There are talks with the photographers and other special events.
- The British Invasion 1781 at Monticello – Saturday & Sunday June 18-19. Yes, the British did invade Monticello during the Revolutionary War. See reenactments of
Jack Jouett’s legendary ride to warn Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson’s farewell to his family and the British raid on Monticello. View the camps used by the Americans and the British and learn about the citizens who supported the soldiers on a daily basis.
There’s plenty more to do and see in Charlottesville but we thought these might peak your interest.
Enjoy the month of June!
