August 2, Sunday 1:00pm – Polo at King Family Vineyards.
Take a picnic lunch, sip on a glass of wine and watch polo being played. Great way to tailgate, enjoy the outdoors and see some action.
August 8, Saturday Noon – 3:00pm – British & Classic Car Show, Grace Estate Winery.
Enjoy looking at classic cars and British cars in a beautiful setting. Food trucks, live music and wine – what could be better?
August 11, Tuesday 7:00 – 9:00pm – Tuesday Tunes, Ash Lawn-Highland (James Monroe’s presidential home).
This evening concert is performed by two local bluegrass
bands – Pretty Little Miss and Gallatin Canyon. Take a picnic with you and enjoy some great beverages from Albemarle Ciderworks and Devil’s Backbone Brewery while listening to modern and traditional bluegrass music. Food trucks will be on-site if you don’t want to take a picnic with you.
August 20, Thursday 5:30-8:00pm – Mosaic Lessons, Firefish Gallery.
Always wanted to learn how to make mosaics? Well here’s your chance to learn how to make a mosaic mirror, flower pot, or tray. It’s BYOB and BYOS(nack). We’ll pack a lunch or snack bag for you to take.
August 22, Saturday 9:30-11:30am – Summer Fruit Tasting, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson’s presidential home).
Grabriele Rausse will help you enjoy what Thomas Jefferson referred to as “precious refreshment”. Tasting includes early apples, figs, grapes, nectarines, peaches, and more. We’ll provide an early breakfast for you if you are staying with us so you can make to the tasting in time.
